Family Practice Residency Program

Medical Student Clerkships

Medical students are welcome to spend 2-4 weeks at our residency program, and many decide our residency program is their first choice come match day for training following this experience. Previous students have taken the opportunity to see patients in the Mercy Family Health Center, work with the Medicine team in the hospital, participate in community outreach activities such as high school pre-participation physical exams and more.

A clerkship is not a prerequisite for acceptance into the residency program. It is recommended for any student who wants to experience the role of a family doctor in a community practice setting.

Rotations are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. To be eligible, the student must be currently enrolled in a medical school listed by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) or American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM).
