For your pregnancy and beyond
Pregnancy Health and Fitness
Pregnancy and new motherhood is an exciting time, but, for many women, the physical changes that occur can be difficult on your body. Increased weight, an alteration in your body's center of gravity and hormonal changes loosening ligaments supporting joints, can cause a variety of muscle and joint pain. These issues may be further aggravated by your inability to take certain medications while pregnant.
To help you stay fit and minimize the impact these changes have on your body, Methodist Hospital's Maternally Fit Pool program offers a low-impact, warm water pool class specifically designed for expectant mothers following their first trimester. For 60 minutes, two times a week, moms-to-be can exercise, at their own pace, under the direction of a trained instructor.
For more information about our Maternally Fit Pool Program, please call Methodist Outpatient Rehabilitation Services
at (916) 423-5928. Please note that physician clearance is required prior to class participation.
