Visiting Hours & Guidelines

On the pediatric, surgical and medical units, visiting hours are from 1  to 8:30 p.m. Visiting hours for other areas of the hospital may vary. Please see below for more detailed information. For your comfort and convenience, waiting areas are located on each floor of the hospital.

Children under the age of 14 are welcome to visit patients if accompanied and supervised by
an adult. Please do not leave children unattended in the hospital lobby or waiting rooms.

Family Birth Center
Visiting hours in the Family Birth Center are from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; however, fathers and significant others are allowed to visit anytime.

Please note: To ensure our littlest patients stay healthy, we do not allow children to visit unless they're siblings of the new baby and accompanied by an adult.

Intensive Care Unit
Only relatives are allowed to visit patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and only two at a time, for a brief period. Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Please use the phone outside the door to request entry. No children under 12 are permitted in the ICU, as well as no flowers or balloons.

Parking
Around-the-clock patient and visitor parking is available free of charge on the hospital campus. Parking is permitted under the entry canopy at the main entrance for patients entering or leaving the hospital. Vehicles may not be parked in this area for more than five minutes and never at a red curb.

Cafeteria
The cafeteria, located on the basement level and is open to visitors seven days a week during the following times:

Breakfast: 7 to 10 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dinner: 5 to 7 p.m.

Vending machines are located in the hospital lobby waiting area and are accessible 24 hours a day.

Gift Shop
The hospital gift shop, located off the main lobby, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The gift shop sells flowers, cards, magazines, candy, toys and other gift items.

Cellular Phones and Personal Computers
To avoid interference with medical equipment in use, the operation of cellular telephones, two-way radios, personal computers, portable fax/modems or any device that emits RF transmission is not permitted.

Smoking
In keeping with the Sacramento City Ordinance that prohibits smoking in public places, and to help ensure the good health of our patients and staff, Methodist Hospital does not permit smoking in any of its facilities.
